Q: Can you swim in
the lake?
A: We have been swimming in the lake
since we were kids. The water is warm, clean and refreshing. What a
wonderful way to spend time with your family floating around on
Kentucky Lake on a hot lazy afternoon. So bring your rafts and life
jackets and enjoy!
Q: Do you have a
pool?
A: We have the largest pool in the Mid
West. It just doesn’t have a concrete bottom and we don’t have to add
chemicals. Of course we’re speaking of Kentucky Lake. Enjoy!
Q: We are having a family reunion at
Lighthouse Landing. Do you have a meeting room we could use?
A: We have the perfect location for small
reunions and corporate meetings. Located in the heart of the resort,
our meeting room has inside seating for 27 guests with outside seating
for 40 around octagonal picnic tables. The room has a full kitchen and
a ceramic tile floor. Outside the room you have a great view of
Kentucky Lake from a large deck, a large BBQ grill, and a Chiminea
(fire-pit) for those cool evenings. You can reserve the room for
$125/day (10:00 am to 11:00 pm).
Q: How are the
cottages equipped and do you provide daily housekeeping?
A: The cottages are equipped with all
you’re cooking and eating utensils, including a BBQ grill (bring your
own charcoal), toaster, microwave, blender, and coffee maker.
Your towels and linens are provided with extra towels located inside
the closet or cabinet. If you need clean towels or linens, just let us
know and we will come to your cottage and exchange with you. Bring
your own beach towels. We do not do daily housekeeping but we provide
the necessary items inside your cottage for the occasional clean up
you might have.
Q: We have a
cottage reserved, but won’t get there until after you’ve closed. How
can we get in our cottage?
A: Check in time is 3PM. Our office
closes at 5PM. If you are arriving after 5PM, please call and
make arrangements for late check in. A registration form and
credit card receipt for your balance must be signed before your
arrival. In order to do this we must be able to fax or email
these forms to you. If receiving a fax, sign and initial in the
appropriate areas. If receiving an e-mail use either a digital
signature of type your full name on the line provided for your
signature. Type your initials in the appropriate areas.
The forms must be returned to us before 4PM. Check out time is
11AM
Q: Are there phones
in the cottages?
A: There are no phones in the cottages. If you are expecting a call or
receive an emergency call we will get the message to you or leave a
note on your door. We have an after hour answering machine so your
friends or relatives can leave a message and we will get it to you the
next morning. We have cellular service in the area so bring your
phone. If you need to check your e-mail, let us know. Bring your
laptop to the office and we’ll let you plug in.
Q: Do the cottages
have a washer and dryer?
A: Our cottages do not have washers and
dryers. We do have a coin-operated laundry with a washer and dryer
that is available 24 hours. We do not sell detergent so, you need to
bring some if you anticipate needing to do laundry or you can buy some
nearby at DeWeese IGA.
Q: We have a
cottage rented for the weekend. Some friends of ours have decided to
come and want to bring a camper. Can they camp at Lighthouse Landing?
A: Yes. We have a campground with sites
available for up to 35’ RV’s. Each site is graveled and has water and
electric. A dump station and 2 bathhouses are conveniently located.
The campsites rent for $22/night. Call for reservations.
Q: Is there an
airport nearby?
A: Yes. Kentucky Dam Airport (private
planes) is located 5 miles from Lighthouse Landing, in the Kentucky
Dam Village State Park. For commercial flights use Barkley Field
(Paducah) 30 miles West on I-24 or Nashville International (Nashville,
TN) about 125 miles East on I-24
Q: What if we have
an emergency in the middle of the night?
A: If the emergency is life threatening,
call 911. We have a local fire department and ambulance that can be
here in a matter of minutes and we have several hospitals nearby.
