Mission Statement
Our aim is to provide happiness and joy through a relaxing
experience by ensuring our customers receive prompt, professional,
friendly and courteous service at a fair price and by maintaining
clean, comfortable and eco-friendly premises for our guests and
staff. By reaching this goal, we shall be assured of a fair profit
that will allow us to contribute to the community we serve.
Our Environmental Commitment
At Lighthouse Landing, we are committed to protecting the
environment. We support the use of Hybrid vehicles by purchasing
one. Compact fluorescent bulbs have been used throughout the resort
and marina since 2001 and we have been selling sailboats since 1977.
The sport of sailing has been around since Old Father Time and is
powered by Mother Nature (except for the occasional motoring in/out
of the harbor). What a wonderful, economical way to enjoy the lake.
When staying at Lighthouse Landing, we ask our customers by various
means of communication, to help us conserve our natural resources,
by turning off the lights, television, fans, etc. and adjusting the
climate control, before leaving their cottage and to help save water
by using towels more than once. To help reduce allergens and
cleaning costs, we do not allow smoking or pets inside our rental
units, we added ceramic tile to our cottages in the living areas and
bathrooms and we use non-toxic, non-allergenic, all natural cleaning
products.
We have provided a waste pump out system that is available 24 hours
a day at no charge to our customers using boats and RV’s. We sell
holding tank treatment for marine and RV that is environmentally
correct, biodegradable and contains NO formaldehyde or harsh
chemicals.
Some of the ways we try to help keep our environment clean is by
recycling used oil, diesel fuel, antifreeze, batteries, inkjet and
toner cartridges, cans and cardboard.
For at least 17 years we have used vacuum sanders when preparing
boats for bottom painting, keeping the paint off the ground.
Non-toxic antifreeze is used when winterizing in both the water
systems and engine (except for the closed cooling system of the
engine). We donate used office equipment, appliances, computers,
monitors and furniture, bedding, and HVAC units to our local
Livingston County Helping Hands and other organizations. When
painting walls or replacing carpet in our cottages, we use low or no
VOC products. Re-cycled paper and products are used wherever
possible.
“The conservation of natural resources is the fundamental problem.
Unless we solve that problem it will avail us little to solve all
others” Theodore Roosevelt |
