There is something simply magical about a sunset over Kentucky Lake. With beautiful colors of reds, oranges, and yellows cast across the sky and the glass-like waters of Kentucky Lake set against the foreground, you can’t get more picturesque than this. Grand Rivers Walking Trail and Beach
Adjacent to Lighthouse Landing, the Grand Rivers Jetty is a two-mile walking trail that extends onto Kentucky Lake. At the end of the jetty, there is a beautiful gazebo with benches, the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the sunset. Named as one of the top 50 romantic spots in the country by Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2006, it’s easy to see why this is one of our favorite places to view the sunset at Kentucky Lake. The walking trail can be accessed walking from your cottage or driving to the parking area located near the jetty.
Lighthouse Beach
Sunsets and the beach go hand in hand, so why not grab some beach chairs and head down to Lighthouse Beach for a beautiful sunset over Kentucky Lake. This beach area is for Lighthouse Landing guests only, so it feels like you have it all to yourself.
Take a scenic drive along Kentucky Lake Drive
Venture out and enjoy one of the many scenic drives the Land Between the Lakes recreation area has to offer. The Kentucky Lake Drive is a three-mile route found along the Woodland Trace route. The drive provides scenic views of the lake, plus a variety of picnic spots to pull over and enjoy a picnic meal while you watch the sunset. There are also several hiking and biking trails in the area if you wanted to make a day of it.

What’s more picturesque than watching the sunset over a lake with the slender silhouettes of sailboats in the foreground? Nothing! You can enjoy scenes like this from the marina at Lighthouse Landing.
