Grand Rivers Jetty & Walking Trail

Great Place to Get Away and Relax!

First time there – though it was my fiancĂ©’s second. Loved it so much – rebooked for next year at check out. Nice – well kept resort and marina – quiet – with great views of the lake – and especially the sun sets!! All the employees there were so nice and helpful. We had a package delivered while staying there – they called to let us know it was there! We docked our boat, docks were really nice. Short walking distance to the town which is quaint and loaded with fun shops to go into. And places to eat, grocery store, bank and ice cream shop! Some outside activities for kids – goofy golf, bikes, etc. The cottages are so well kept, fully stocked kitchen. We took our own food, cooked and you have your own private grill outside your cottage. Day we were leaving we ran into some regular clients who stay the who summer – all very nice and friendly! We are living to go back next year.

Unpack and go for a stroll on the Grand Rivers Walking Trail. This two mile walking trail is a large sidewalk beginning at the Grand Rivers Jetty. The Jetty, adjacent to Lighthouse Landing, extends out into Kentucky Lake with an open Gazebo and benches at the end where you can sit and watch the sunset.

The Jetty was listed in Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2006 as one of the top 50 romantic spots in the country and is often used for small weddings. Call Grand Rivers City Hall for Jetty wedding information at 270-362-8272. The Meeting Room, located at Lighthouse Landing, is the perfect spot for a small rehearsal dinner or wedding reception.

The Grand Rivers Walking Trail can be reached by walking from your cottage or driving to the parking area located near the Jetty. The trail takes you from the Jetty at Lighthouse Landing through downtown Grand Rivers, ending at Little Lake Park, making it easy to go from Lighthouse Landing to dining, shopping, events and entertainment. The walking trail passes by Patti’s, the Badgett Playhouse,Village Market and Cafe, and the Senior Community Center where you can go to the Annual Grand Rivers Spring Festival & Quilt Show or dance the night away, Friday nights with the music of Stanley Walker, a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. When you reach Little Lake Park, you will find picnic tables, a sand volleyball court, basketball court and a children’s playground. This area is also where special events take place such as the Labor Day Arts and Crafts Festival, kids fishing tournaments and more. For more information and a calendar of events, visit www.grandrivers.org. If you start at any point along the walking trail and complete the loop from the end of the Jetty to the end of the walking trail by Little Lake you will travel 2.18 miles.

Family weekend

We rented 8 cottages and meeting room for our 40th anniversary. Our family was impressed with the beautiful area and cleanlines of each cottage. We have visited a few times before, and wanted to share this place with our family. The staff couldn’t be more wonderful. Each person we met with or spoke to on the phone was friendly and helpful. The meeting room and deck were perfect places for our family to gather. If you plan to travel to Kentucky, don’t miss out on the Lighthouse Landing experience…..it is well worth the trip!
