Grand Rivers is a festive Christmas town that puts on quite the show every year with singing carolers, holiday festivals, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and one of the biggest light shows in the South. Discover below how you can celebrate the holidays in Grand Rivers!
Festival of Lights

Kick off the holidays in Grand Rivers with the Festival of Lights. Beginning the first Friday of November, over 1.5 million lights illuminate the “The Village Between the Lakes.” All holiday season, visit Patti’s Settlement to view the glistening lights, drive through a tunnel of lights entering Little Lake Park, shop decorated storefronts, and even visit with Santa himself. The Festival of Lights runs through mid-January.
Note: The traditional Festival of Lights ceremony has been cancelled due to safety concerns. The lights will go on at dark on Friday evening and is open to the public for viewing.
Hometown Holiday event
Continue the holiday celebration in Grand Rivers with the Hometown Holiday Event. Perfect for the entire family, there will be carolers, characters in the park with the chance to meet Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from the movie Frozen, breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more. The Hometown Holiday event takes place on November 14th. A calendar of events is listed below:
- Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus – Advance ticket purchase required.
- Time: 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.
- Elsa, Anna & Olaf light up the park then available for photos until 6 PM.
- Time: 5:00 p.m.
- FREE vintage horse drawn carriage rides by John’s PASS Carriage Service through Grand Rivers Little Lake Park Lights
- Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Dickens Style Carolers
- Time: 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
- The Grinch Brings Back Christmas. Take pictures with and meet the Grinch himself.
- Time: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
- FREE Holiday treats, goodies, & beverages at the Grand Rivers Chamber Hospitality Tent.
- Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Catch a live show at the Badgett Playhouse, in downtown Grand Rivers, like the Christmas Extravaganza, the Big Band Christmas Show, and Down Home Country Christmas.

Come and check out the boats decorated for the holidays! This year, Lighthouse Landing is donating $100 for each decorated boat with the proceeds going to our local food pantry. Visit the resort and marina beginning November 21st to see our lights and lighted boat displays.
