Canal Loop Trail

This 11-mile loop is one of the most popular mountain-biking trails at Land Between the Lakes. The loop features four different connectors for up to 14 miles of accessible trails. Enjoy beautiful lake views, challenging terrain, and options for short or long loops.

Central Hardwood Scenic Trail

This scenic trail features 11 miles of both compacted stone surface and paved surfaces with gentle and approachable grades. Enjoy shoreline views of Lake Barkley and wildlife viewing opportunities, plus rolling hills and ridge tops.

Fort Henry Trail

The Fort Henry Trail Systems connects nine trails totaling 27 miles. The trials follow the route of General Grant’s troop movements during the Civil War. Plus, it offers hikers and bikers some of the best opportunities for solitude at Land Between the Lakes.

Hillman Heritage National Recreation Trail

These historic trails include 5.7 miles of terrain and are open to Hillman campers, as well as the general public, for hiking and biking.

North/South Trail (North end)

Perfect for a challenging bike ride, the North/South Trail at the northern end is a 59-mile trail spanning the entire length of the recreation area. Its terrain ranges from rugged, hilly areas in the north to easier, less strenuous hiking in the south. Accessibility can be found along several points via Forest Service Roads.

Woodlands Nature Watch

The Woodlands Walk Trail is roughly one mile of trail that meanders around Nature Station. The Woodlands Nature Watch Area itself offers optimum opportunity to see native wildlife amongst its 6,800-acre of managed land. Nearly 260 species of birds and 55 species of mammals have been documented in the area.

Bear Creek Trail

This 6.6-mile loop offers the most diverse landscape for wildflowers from March through May. The loop connects the North/South Trail, Telegraph Trail, and the Ft. Henry Trail connector.

Hematite Trail

This 2.2-mile loop trail is known for its high diversity of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and woodland wildflowers from April to September.

Long Creek Paved Trail

This ¼-mile paved trail provides a great opportunity for children and other people looking for an easy walk. The trail features sycamore, sweet gums, and oak trees where kingfishers and beavers live in these woods.

Center Furnace Trail

A very short 0.3-mile interpretive trail that provides information about the area’s iron history. The trail is mainly flat and features some stairs.

Honker Lake and Trail

This 4.5-mile loop trail circles the lake, meandering through the lake shore, upland, and bottom-land forest settings. Continue your adventure and drive up to Honker Dam for even more wildlife viewing.

North/South Trail (South end)

The 27-mile South End of this trail hiker-only trail has a shared-use equestrian section between Road 342 and the Homeplace.
